Hi! My name is Anna Trofholz, and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern at Spokane Counseling Hub.
I know from firsthand experience that counseling can be a difficult process and finding the right counselor can be an intimidating first step.
I hope to ease these fears by showing up with authenticity and allowing clients to have autonomy and choice in what their journey of growth looks like.
I know from firsthand experience that counseling can be a difficult process and finding the right counselor can be an intimidating first step. I hope to ease these fears by showing up with authenticity and allowing clients to have autonomy and choice in what their growth journey looks like. My goal is to best support you on that journey and help you heal in your relationships along the way.
I am thrilled to be a part of the Spokane Counseling Hub team as a Mental Health Counselor Associate. I am a graduate of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Gonzaga University, through which I began an internship here as well as training in coupleโs therapy. Before joining Spokane Counseling Hub, I mentored first year students in their transition to college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where I received my B.A. in Psychology and Spanish. I also worked in the U.K. for a nonprofit that supports young adults experiencing multiple disadvantages, such as houselessness, domestic violence, addiction, and involvement with the criminal justice system. Here at Spokane Counseling Hub, I plan to continue my training in coupleโs therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
In my personal life, I enjoy reading, connecting with friends over matcha, attending concerts and cooking new recipes. I also love to spend time outdoors, whether itโs hiking, hammocking, camping, or floating down the river. Most importantly, I make time to spend with my friends and family whenever I get.
My primary goal is to create a safe haven where you can openly express yourself and find empowerment through vulnerability. I operate from a place of unconditional empathy regardless of your past or current choices.
I also value cultural humility and aim to honor your beliefs, values, and background without exception. My hope is that, through the safety of our counseling relationship, you can begin to trust your own decisions and build your self-worth.
When safety is present, anyone is capable of creating positive change. I firmly believe that humans operate from a growth mindset and have everything they need in them to grow. I am simply here to act as a collaborative guide; helping you process emotions, heal past wounds, strengthen relationships, and achieve goals.
To facilitate this growth, I primarily use an attachment-based, client-centered approach to Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
