Spokane Counseling Hub

About Us

When you walk through the door of the Spokane Counseling Hub, you’re accepted for exactly who you are, right where you are at this point in time. No judgment, no lectures, and no critiquing. Just an extended hand to help you with whatever you’re grappling with and a genuine concern for your well-being.

We’ll listen to your story very closely, and we’ll get to know you very well. We’ll assess the current challenges impeding your progress and design a customized therapy plan to quickly and effectively address them based on your expressed needs and wants for yourself, your relationships, and your life.

That said, we don’t try to be everything to everybody. And we don’t promise overnight success with easy fixes. Rather, we specialize in four particular areas of therapy, applying a very strategic handful of research-based, practicum-oriented therapeutic approaches proven to produce targeted results and generate client-focused outcomes.

You’ll work. Sometimes you’ll have to work hard. But you won’t be alone — we’ll be working on your behalf as well, right by your side, every step of the way.

Spokane Counseling Hub

We’re Dedicated to Equipping You with a Lifelong Toolbox of Growth & Empowerment Skills

The Spokane Counseling Hub is a place of unqualified acceptance, unlimited advocacy for diversity, and unceasing support for our neighbors and community members who are seeking more clarity and serenity in their lives and who are interested in the never-ending journey of personal growth and empowerment.

We see ourselves as change-makers and truth-seekers, as both teachers and students, as passionate champions and promoters of our clients’ goals and hopes for their future. We innovate and elevate. We inspire and inform. We restore and revitalize. We are here for one reason and one reason only: to serve you in your quest for wellness and wholeness. And we never lose sight of that overarching calling.

We treat a wide array of issues and challenges with our preferred therapeutic methodologies, including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Some issues are temporary situations that can be resolved in just a handful of sessions. Others are more complex, deep-seated wounds that will require more time to heal. In all cases, we work with you to remove the obstructions that are blocking your way forward, and our chief focus is on establishing or reestablishing healthy, secure connections with the people who figure prominently in your life.

We pay special attention to matching you with the most appropriate, best-fit therapist to suit your specific needs. We’re not looking to put short-term patches on longstanding problems. Rather, we’re aiming to get to the root of the issue in order to produce lasting change that will significantly enhance your quality of life.  In the process, you will feel understood and valued. You will foster strong, sustainable bonds that will fulfill and nurture you. You will feel energized to pursue the life of your dreams.

If we do our job right — and we’ll stop at virtually nothing to accomplish that — we will send you on your way as quickly as we can, armed with insights, skills, and tools that will serve you all the days of your life, with the people you love most in your life. Including yourself.

Jennine Estes Powell

Meet Our Founder

Jennine Estes, LMFT, is the owner and supervisor of the Spokane Counseling Hub. After earning her bachelor’s in psychology from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2001 and her master’s in marriage and family therapy from Alliant International University (an offshoot of the California School of Professional Psychology) in 2004, she quickly went to work applying her formal education, thousands of therapy hours, and passion for clinical counseling to scores of individuals, couples, and families throughout her home state of California.

She is certified in EFT, trained in EMDR, and a proponent of solution-focused therapy, as “I’ve seen these empirically based techniques consistently get results, and I truly believe they are the most effective at creating positive, long-term change.” In addition to running her own private practice, she also serves as a mentor and supervisor to multiple Associate Marriage and Family Therapists and Associate Professional Clinical Counselors and she coaches other therapists. A believer in lifelong learning, Jennine takes pride in regularly attending seminars, workshops, and trainings to enhance her skill set with the latest advancements in results-oriented therapy modalities.

In her counseling sessions, Jennine sets a relaxed, collaborative, and empathetic tone. She concentrates on creating a safe, secure, and welcoming atmosphere so that her clients can comfortably work toward safe and secure bonds of their own. Her specialty areas include attachment-based relationship therapy, pre- and post-marital counseling, high-conflict couples, co-parenting solutions, GSRD (Gender, Sexual, and Relationship Diversity), and overcoming trauma.

A resident of both California and Washington, Jennine splits her time between Estes Therapy in San Diego and her newest venture, the Spokane Counseling Hub here in Spokane, where she feels “a sense of community and belonging that beckoned to me.”
